About Me

Who am I?

My name is Kevin De Silva Jayasinghe. I am a third-year student at UC San Diego studying Cognitive Science with Specialization in Machine Learning and Neural Computation.

What am I doing right now?

I currently work as an Application Developer for UC San Diego IT Services, I work on a team that is responsible for developing everything on the mobile platform for the school. Our Primary Project is the UC San Diego app, where we strive to implement technological solutions to create an even more personalized campus. This has provided me experience in working remotely, collaboration, development on many levels, workflows, testing, and deployment.

I am also the research lead on a HCI Research project at the UCSD Design Lab under Professor Steven Dow that I began with a team over the summer as an intern. It has been a crazy ride but I am thankful for the opportunity to be the lead as an undergrad!

What am I passionate about?

Some of my passions include working and learning about technology, traveling, playing video games, and playing tennis.

What would I love to do for a living?

The diversity of my interests reflect the diversity of my career goal, as I aspire to adapt and learn in foreign situations and to eventually be able to succeed in them as well. I am especially interested in roles that work under the intersections of development, design, and business.
